Iceland
Mountains // Waterfalls // Ice Caves and the Northern Lights!!
Most people visit Iceland in the summer, but since we wanted to see the Northern Lights, we braved the elements and went during the dead of winter. Betting a trip on seeing the lights is a bit of a gamble. Like anything in nature, the Auroras are unpredictable and there was no guarantee we would see them at all. Well to end all suspense we saw them basically every night. Very thankful for this as this is not normal!
Along the way, loved seeing the gorgeous Icelandic horses, the endless amount of waterfalls, glaciers, bathing in hot springs, tasting Greenland shark, exploring ice caves, and eating Icelandic hot dogs (it’s their best food).
If this looks like something out of Game of Thrones, well that’s because it is. We got to see many locations where they filmed the show. One of our tour guides was actually part of the crew as a location specialist.
I will be back, hopefully to see the country in the summer!
